"Green Man Rising" nearly killed me when I first listened to it. I wasn't expecting such a stark difference from their later releases, and about destroyed my eardrums. Not that I'm complaining. Their sound here reminds me a bit of Egypt, at least vocally.
"Freak on a Peak" is essentially a heavier, lumbering version of "Into the Wild" off their new album. And it's great! The vocals differ somewhat from their later releases, but are honestly no less appealing. I really like the slower groove they dish out here.
They've done a good job finding their sound since this demo, but by no means should you pass this up. It stands tall on its own.
